Loan Processor 

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate preparation, processing and maintenance of commercial, real estate, consumer, and agriculture loans and related documents. This role maintains compliance with the Bank's lending policies, procedures, and mission statement. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and developing relationships with Bank loan officers; maintaining and developing relationships with Bank customers; promoting other Bank products and services while providing exceptional customer service; and actively participating in the local community.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining of commercial, real estate, consumer, agriculture loan notes and files. Reviews, analyzes, and determines acceptability of documents/conditions according to established standards, regulations, and Peshtigo National Bank Loan Policy.
  • Oversees and follows procedures for efficiency of workflow from lending officer to credit files with the desired result of maintaining up-to-date collateral information.
  • Prepares and processes loan advances/payments/payoff transactions, collateral releases, UCC filings, and all other necessary documents accurately.
  • Generates and reviews required reports and account statuses, as necessary. Performs pre- and post-closing tasks. Prepares new loan application packets ensuring correct documents are included.
  • Closely monitor customer files for exceptions and/or missing items or documents.
  • Assists loan officers in gathering information necessary for credit decisions and credit files. Obtains credit reports on customers, aids in the process of loan renewals, and assists loan officer for loan signing preparation.
  • Assists loan officers in collection of past due accounts through notices and other applicable communication methods.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a positive image in the community through involvement with charities, community groups, and trade organizations.
  • Update knowledge and develop professionally on a continual basis.
  • Assist Branch in CSR Frontline duties, when necessary.
  • Travel required to various branches, meetings, seminars, or conferences.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor as necessary.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Upholds strict confidentiality in all Bank matters and customer information.
  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of the various functions administered by this position obtained by either an undergraduate degree in finance, agribusiness, accounting, business, or related field, and/or applicable work experience of at least 2-3 years.
  • Advanced ability to read and understand technical, legal, real estate and financial documents.
  • Strong administrative/Microsoft Office product knowledge. Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action, and to deal tactfully with personnel, customers, vendors, visitors, and the public.
  • Ability to stay in one place or work in confined area for extended period of time. Frequent standing, sitting, walking, twisting, and reaching movements. Occasional lifting of 25-50 pounds.
  • Typical work occurs in a business/office setting with some exposure to the outdoors. Hours worked are generally during normal business hours (8 am to 5 pm). Work on weekends may be required as necessary to ensure customer needs are met.
